Winstrol Side Effects

Winstrol is an anabolic steroid widely used in the world of sports for muscle gain and performance enhancement. This drug has clinical uses as well and doctors prescribe to patients suffering from allergic reactions such as angioedema, HIV/AIDS, osteoporosis and respiratory diseases and other muscle wasting diseases and severe anemia. Winstrol comes in the form of tablets as well as intramuscular injections. Both forms deliver similar results and have the same side effects.

Winstrol encourages muscle growth through nitrogen retention and also helps the body maintain the muscles gained. Its fat burning properties help you shed the extra body fat while promoting lean muscle mass. This steroid gives hard well defined superior quality muscles as it does not cause fluid retention under the skin which gives a watery look to the muscles. Winstrol does not aromatize and so there are negligible estrogenic activities like fluid retention, fat deposition and development of breasts in men. Another feature which has made Winstrol popular is that it enhances the red blood cell count in the human body. Increased number of red blood cell mean that the user gets more stamina to train harder and perform better during competitions. Leisure users take it for reducing weight while making muscles and some users also take Winstrol for reducing weight.

Side Effects of Winstrol

Virilization in women is one of the common Winstrol side effects. As steroids cause an imbalance of sex hormones in the body; women develop many characteristics which are primarily associated with men. There is an abnormal growth of hair on the face and the body, there is increased pubic hair and the voice becomes thick due to thickening of vocal chords. The breast size becomes smaller too. But one of the most serious winstrol side effects is the enlargement of clitoris which is also irreversible. Menstruation becomes infrequent and in extreme cases stops completely.

Winstrol side effects in men are also related to the imbalance of sex hormones. Winstrol represses the natural production of testosterones in the body and in acute cases the production of testosterones completely ceases. The testicles also become smaller in size with the prolong use of this steroid. Low sperm count and possibility of impotency are some other side effects.

Liver damage is another Winstrol side effect of the oral form of this steroid. Winstrol tablets are c-17 alpha alkylated to pass the liver test. This alteration makes them stressful on the liver and causes liver malfunction. The user may suffer from jaundice or any other liver disease. The onset of liver problems is usually indicated by the darkening of urine and yellowing of the skin along with nausea and stomach cramps.

The use of Winstrol also leads to the disturbance of the cholesterol level in the body which results in cardiac problems. There are rare complaints of dryness of joints and pain in tendons as winstrol side effects.

Another Winstrol side effect is that when taken intramuscularly, it causes redness and pain at the site of injection. As Winstrol needs to be taken every day the users should inject at different places.

Although acne and baldness does not commonly occur if Winstrol is taken in the recommended doses for a limited time period, the abuse of Winstrol can lead to an outburst of acne known as the steroid acne. Steroid acne occurs mostly on the shoulders, chest and arms of the user and is quite painful. Loss of hair through excessive hair fall can occur due to Winstrol abuse too. Sleeping problems, loss of appetite, headaches and increase or decrease in sexual desire are other Winstrol side effects.

Those who have diabetes or suffer from cardiac problems should consult a doctor. This drug is not meant for pregnant women.
